In 2006 I celebrated my marriage to Sam at Silchester House; there’s undoubtedly an air of romantic wistfulness to my recollections when posting pictures and stories I capture from this home.
Silchester House, part of the Bijou group of wedding venues is a Victorian mansion set in nine acres of its own grounds on the border of Berkshire and Hampshire. An exclusive venue it boasts a traditional marquee set adjacent to one of the home’s wings.
Silchester is licensed for civil ceremonies both inside and outside, either in the oak paneled ceremony room or under the grand arbour overlooking the gardens. The addition of a marquee attached to the house, allows you to seat nearly two hundred wedding guests for a wedding breakfast.
Wedding guests are treated to an exceptional wedding breakfast tailored by you with advice from specialist chefs under the leadership of Executive Chef, Simon Denton.
Couples booking Silchester House enjoy the use of fourteen bedroom suites including the grand bridal suite, a perfect room for bridal preparations, plus a music room, drawing and sitting room for an evening party.
