The Vineyard wedding venue Newbury | ‘Phil and Han’ | picture story

“Laugh and the World laughs with you;” famous prose from the poet Wilcox and a sentiment which resounded fully at Phil and Hannah’s Vineyard wedding reception near Newbury. The Vineyard in Stockcross is owned by Sir Peter Michael, and is renowned for fine dining (I concur, I’ve eaten here), a luxury spa, and wine; over 20,000 bottles of choice! As a Berkshire wedding venue it champions a five star service experience, but it’s neither stuffy or suffocating; you can party without feeling you shouldn’t communicate louder than a librarian. I’ve not photographed a wedding here since some impressive remodeling at the venue, which sees an incredible new feature heralding an entrance to the banqueting suite crossing a glass floor beneath which you can view the hotel’s lavish wine cellar, and a six by three metre painting displaying the ‘Judgement of Paris,’ an infamous event from the mid 70s where a blind tasting of wine in the European capital turned up the surprise result where even French palates voted Californian wines a victor over the heritage of their home alternative. We started the day at St Andrews Wanborough, one of only three English churches to have a western tower and central spire. It’s an incredibly striking church. With a reception at the Vineyard, there was time for Phil’s side of the family to also host a Chinese Tea Ceremony, where the bride and groom kneel in front of family to share tea as an expression of gratitude. 1. Another great set, Neale.
Absolute favourite has to be the final image! The framing and resulting humour are clear for all to appreciate.
