ETHOS: For me this scene has it all. Love the expression of the flowergirl intrigued by the harpist. The groom midground looks pensive, lost in thought. There’s a conversation mid flow between guests to the right and the bride’s inclusion clearly underlines this as a documentary wedding picture. My self imposed challenge on a wedding day is to try and return images that have several stories developing within one photograph. This has four.

The song ‘four seasons in one day’ originally written by Australia’s Finn brothers, was penned to describe the climate belonging to their beloved Melbourne. I wonder whether it could plausibly also have been written about our own weather. It seems so English doesn’t it? Sunshine at breakfast, rain all morning, rugged fast rolling cumulus of the afternoon, and a mild evening screaming for Pimms to be consumed on the terrace.
