“It’s such a shame that you’re here on a rainy day blowing a gale,” were the first words that greeted me upon my entrance to Oxfordshire’s Heythrop Park. I figured the light airy grand entrance hall, plentifully large sash window lit ceremony room and ceiling illuminated sweeping staircase had perhaps bypassed the eyes of that particular commentator. I’d been there a minute. I could see potential. Plenty of it. It’s worth remembering, of a ten hour wedding day, unless it’s the height of Summer, most couples devote just an hour and a half to an outdoor drinks reception; the time where weather has a relevance. It’s a part, not all, of the day. In my experience, inclement weather does little to dampen wedding day spirits, as David and Holly’s Heythrop nuptials proved.
