Botleys Mansion venue | Wedding 365#167

A record shot, from Botleys Mansion in Surrey, a Bijou group wedding venue. When I embarked upon this 365 project; 365 wedding images from my back catalogue, one a day, signature, record and documentary photographs alike, I was keen that the collection should reflect exactly how I document a day, and not become a cliché portfolio of cleverly silhouetted brides set against a backdrop of some of the most beautiful wedding venues Europe can offer. Record shots for me are as important as the big emotional photographs I capture during say the ceremony or speeches. In fact, record shots will make up a reasonable percentage of the story. They serve as a reminder of who attended, what happened at what time, what food was served, who cooked it, humour, sadness etc et al. This is my modern day answer to gathering table photographs when people are eating. Informality is the key to a record shot.
